Man, I had a bad day. After two 1-hour phone interviews by the owners, and a 14 times Transpac Veteran, an on-line exam, submission of my sailing resume (long version), references checked, last nite I finally got the official offer for the crewing position for Transpac Race 2013. Today, I found out that I have to be in a deposition on July 9, and the departure date is July 8. Yes, I have raised hell even tell my legal council that you were fired.

Fuuuuuk!!!!

I need to kill someone, may be myself.

Reschedule the deposition. Make a motion to the court if necessary.

Thanks James, there are lot more complication at this juncture, too many parties involved. The expert witness depo was scheduled in late June. The court date in early September. No one wants to compromise.

Imagine the deposition was called while you were already underway. Move it.

p.s. I occasionally feel the same way. Hugs don't help. Killing oneself does not help. Killing others helps temporarily, but has side affects. Getting the F away on the boat always helps.

You obviously are about to come down with a severe case of the flu. It could last weeks. Sea air, in a tropical climate, is the best thing for such an infection. Trust me, I'm a doctor (OK, I'm really a Marine Biologist, but close enough).

hahaha..... you guys are not making it easier for me. But you know me, it is all about priority and is in that order for last 26 years: Family (kids), Career/Business, and Pleasure.

May be the owner will let me sail their boat back from Hawaii to SoCal, or try next years.
