I never forgot to tie up, but last year I forgot to untie one line before heading out. It was a redundant snubber line meant to prevent my boat from rubbing on the fenders, so it was intentionally undersized (just clothesline) so it would break in a storm instead of ripping the cleat off the boat. It broke just as designed.

Why did he remove the hacth and companion way and throw them overboard? What did he think would happen when rain came?
I am curious to know if he had any sort of charts or route planned or if he was simply sailing into the unknown to die.
Theres crazy and then theres insane. Which was he?
