ha

Funny that's never happened to me, but I'll check in when it does.

Usually we just see this orange flash fading behind the stern flag till it looks like a sailboat racing mark buoy.

And she's back home in her slip. With strap marks from the hoist. Oh well. Just the rest of the work to do now.

Re: The new tub

Nice job Paul. I saw her in Harbour Yachts before you bought her and that first shot is a very good likeness of her faded state then.

You worked a miracle in very short order - makes me feel like a slacker with my "new" boat.

I, myself, personally intend to continue being outspoken and opinionated, intolerant of all fanatics, fools and ignoramuses, deeply suspicious of all those who have "found the answer" and on my bad days, downright rude.

Congrats, Paul. C&Cs are some of the sloopiest sloops anywhere -- they just look right from all angles. Refitting it should keep ya out of trouble, eh?

Re: The new tub

Just curious, did you use Mcguires products on her? The wife and I need to do the same procedure and would love to get the results you did, she looks great! Well, if an orange is a she anyway...

Re: The new tub

Looks great. I've owned Orange, Yellow, White, and Red boats in the past and I much prefer the ones with a little colour to the them, obviously.

Re: The new tub

Mick, I used 3M cutting compound and their restorer polish/wax. I normally overcoat with Meguiars Gold Class wax but the 3M stuff actually came out pretty nicely. I might put a coat of wax on towards the end of summer while she's still in the water to the Meguiars will be used for that. I have a bottle of pure carnuba wax as well but that's a right pain to use, have to have the exact right temperate, humidity etc.
