Against my better judgement; because we are being overrun by NYC an NJ residents (both residential and marinas). Have you considered Lake Ontario? Yes; it's a drive, but, it's not crowded and a whole lot cheaper with less storms. Sacketts Harbor,NY (Navy Point Marine) or Oswego,NY can accommodate you.
.............. A whole lot nicer than down there and 10 degrees cooler.
It's fresh water!
Clean!
Friendly!
No congestion!
Cheap!
Summers are stunning!! and quiet.
Great sailing!

In my marina we have 3 couples that come up from central jersey every weekend.
Sorry; no room for a 44.

Summer temps on the Chesapeake vary climatologically.
Current summer season has been comparatively cool and with good winds for the most part.
Typically the Ches. has 'the doldrums' during the last two weeks of July and the beginning of August. Some years, depending of the 'North Atlantic Oscilation' - NOA, will have good 'sea breezes', although light sea breezes, all the way into the Chesapeake almost all summer.
The NOA affects almost the entire North East Coast, and is currently still 'going negative' - cooler.
North Atlantic Oscillation Going Negative
