LOL! Yeah, I forgot, that does take it to a whole 'nuther level of complexity, in addition to actually having to look up the time of the flood or ebb at DE Bay Entrance...

As nifty as some of these animations can be, I've still yet to find anything that's simpler to use when figuring a transit of DE Bay, particularly on the ebb...

Having said that, I did make a trip north several months ago, with crew aboard who had an iPad loaded with all the goodies... No question, it was very slick, and I can certainly see the appeal to many, particularly those who are new to sailing, and might not be familiar with more traditional means, or who rarely venture beyond waters where 4G cell coverage, or whatever, is available...

But time has passed me by, for sure... Hell, my Nokia cell phone is so old and outdated, it doesn't even have a camera... (grin)

This is one of the more useful downloadable tide/current predictors I've come across, it's free with very extensive coverage beyond US waters, particularly in places like Atlantic Canada and the Bahamas...
