First boat

Well after many years of chartering, sailing club boats, and crewing for others I am buying a 1/2 interest in a friends boat. Her boat partner cashed in after many years giving me this opportunity. It is a Bristol 27, not a boat I would normally go for, but its an affordable way for me to get on the water. The boat is on a mooring in Marblehead Harbor, prime real estate to say the least, and my friend who lives in Marblehead stores the boat in her yard off season, which helps to keep costs down. An added expense for me will be joining one of the less exclusive yacht clubs on the harbor so I can have access to the boat. I am already planning my first voyage!

Re: First boat

Sounds like a really sweet setup. Congratulations!
Bristol 27 is a really good boat IMO. Rock solid.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

Re: First boat

Congratulations and I am not questioning your decision but I am curious. Is there an advantage to partnering up with someone? I am the type that likes to do things on my schedule and with so many sub 30' boats for short money it seems less convenient to have to coordinate with a "partner"

Just curious here...no judgement
