Timeline of the Bounty

If you've followed the testimony at the hearing on the Bounty's sinking, this won't be surprising. It does reinforce the need for a Pan-Pan if things are not going well and early enough so that the CG and others know the full extent of the situation. It's probably a bit late when the boat is flooding up to the soles and the pumps aren't working, and not very accurate to say the "ship is fine".

Re: Timeline of the Bounty

Mario Vittone's coverage of the testimony in the Bounty investigation was the best I've read since the series of articles about the Ranger mission in Somalia that turned into the book "Blackhawk Down".

I think this story if done properly with focus on the "illusion of experience" that pervaded on Bounty would make a fascinating book as well.
