Admiral drove down just in time with a 23 year old bottle of rum. Crisis over.

I promised I'd leave out the incriminating photos ... but here's my version of the trip (the first part, anyway) The "Life Afloat" Archives: s/v Rhapsody In Blue Delivery, Part 1 (of 4): Gulf Stream

I see you captured my turquoise. First overnight trip "at sea" but not my first overnight trip. This captured the trip perfectly.

Re: Tropical Storm SailNet Marching Up the East Coast

And the storm mentioned in the article? I had just spent 12 straight hours being seasick. Once I hit the berth after my watch, I didn't hear a THING. Fortunately, when I woke up I had my appetite back and was fine for the rest of the trip and able to hold down my share of boat drinks.

Unfortunately, now I have a taste for the better rum.

Re: Tropical Storm SailNet Marching Up the East Coast

I wasn't gonna tell anyone about the seasickness. Or the rum excess we all indulged in...

Re: Tropical Storm SailNet Marching Up the East Coast

I don't think I uttered the word "excess."

And it wasn't excessive. I was happy that everyone was on the same page about drinking lightly at anchor (I think everyone only had one glass) and saving the rest for when we were tied up in a slip.

Meh. I'm not ashamed of being sick, just sad that I missed a day's worth of good food. But thanks for thinking of my feelings.

I'll try to get the same crew together (+1) when we buy our Next Boat. As of now there are only a few for sale on the east coast so I might have to sail it home.

Re: Tropical Storm SailNet Marching Up the East Coast

It was nice to see you two again and to meet some new friends. I think it (rum) was called "lubrication", if I recall the radio conversation.

I love how small the world has become. See you when you get back to St. Augustine!
