CAT 30 STERN RAIL SEATS-MAKING

I have a 1980 cat 30 and am intrested in making my own stern rail seats....anyone have plans, I''m not sure how to do this because the backstays are in the way. Also, Does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives for making a tinted forward hatch? I can''t afford the $400 most places ask?
Thanks in advance

A fiberglass hatch cover can be made translucent by just scraping off the gell coat and recoating with epoxy then UV varnish or other UV protector for the epoxy. It''s amazing how much light is then let below.
Transparency is much more difficult. I would cut out an opening at least two inches inside any edge and then caulk and bolt a larger piece of tinted plastic over the hole and feel lucky if it didn''t leak.
