Lake Erie to Florida

I am planning to sail my 25' Coronado from Lake Erie to Southern Florida in Spring '14. Anyone know any good books or places to find good information. I plan on taking the Erie Canal Route. Any information would be helpful (time, cost, suggested routes). I would like to make the trip as quickly as possible. Thank you for any advice!

Try doing a search on this site. There's a ton of good info here on this subject.

Re: Lake Erie to Florida

Think of it as three trips joined together. One gets to NYC, the second from there to the Chesapeake, and the third from the southern Chesapeake to Florida (ICW). All have been covered here with some regularity.

Re: Lake Erie to Florida

I'm doing a similar trip right now, west end of Lake Superior to Bahamas. Currently in NYC. Skipper Bob's Guide to the Erie Canal is indispensable. The Erie Canal took us ten days from Buffalo to Troy easy going. Another three or four days from Troy to New York

The Skipper Bob's Guide to Lake Erie is worthless.

Try Cruising the Great Lakes, NYS Canal System, ICW & Bahamas
