I've heard Brian Wilson twice with a VERY talented collection of musicians and singers a few years ago and they were excellent.

Poopdeckpappy, if you're talking surf music than I vote for The Ventures!

Yup, even John Stamos was in the band when I saw them. The younger substitutes were good, but just anyone playing another's songs. Brian Wilson couldn't finish a song without his voice getting tired. The younger singers would just pick it up to cover.

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

I only read a few page and shocked to not here CSN&Y. They would be my first choice if only to hear "80 feet of waterline nicely making way". If they were not all available I'd take Stephen Stills preferably a younger version of him since this is a fantasy thread.

other fun choices
Marley
the Dead
Rusted Root
Taj Mahal
Jimmy Cliff,
Left over Salmon
Wide Spread Panic
and Bruce Cockburn

I wish Bill Graham was still around to put on a special Day on the Green for me.

Re: What Band Will Play At Your Sail Party?

We certainly listen to more than our share of Marley and Buffet. They always remind me of boating.

However, to play for me? Hmmm, would have to choose between Staind and Kenny Chesney if that isn't two opposite sides of the spectrum. I would probably pick Kenny, but Staind would be a very close second.

have you heard the new Best of Pink Floyd remixed? I just bought it last night, but came out in 2007. Sounds great. I just hate spending the money on the same songs I already have - but its just money and they are awesome.
