" I don't have the title, but it's real easy to get one."---- Well if it's real easy, why don't you get it????

Second hand but when I was talking to my surveyor he told me about one owner while he was surveying the boat for a possible buyer told him that he aligns the shaft each time he goes out. After the surveyor mentioned something about a stuffing block.

I always like the 5 & 10 year old surveys. Why not add that the boat was brand new 35 years ago?

A lot of this stuff is in the same category as "That'll buff out".

I saw the add in the paper and called the owner, asked the usual questions and got positive answers. Drove an hour to where the boat was docked. As my wife and I were walking down the dock the owner says "did I mention that the boat caught on fire?". Well, no, he had not mentioned that. Turns out the boat had a major explosion and the cabin was destroyed. The cabin did not even have a hatch. We still laugh about this one.

Nice-absurd. To paraphrase Victoria's negotiation:

Me: "Given all the stuff that we saw at survey, I think that we need to take $7,000 off the price."

Broker:"I already told the seller that if he wanted to sell the boat, we needed to reduce the price by $11,000. He agreed."

One of the best deals of my life, worth every cent.
