The type of boat to be delivered may elicit some responses.

The best way to find a competent delivery captain is to ask a yacht broker near you for a list of the captains he uses. Obviously you are only going to get top notch professionals, because no broker would use a lousy captain more than once.
Seaduction likes this.

You might try a PM to Dave a.k.a. "s/v Auspicious" on this board ... he's a delivery skipper based out of Annapolis.

Try a good friend of mine, Tony Nastasse, licensed captain out of Rock Hall.

My sense is that you are running out of time for that especially if this is a small slow boat of the general type you have been considering. Few boats are in a condition to simply buy and sail 650 miles in hurricane season or in the North Atlantic in the late fall. You'd be way ahead of the game buying something closer.

But if you have you heart set on this particular boat you might try to reach Jon Eisberg who is a Sailnet Member. As others have suggested i would also suggest Dave, (SVAudacious).
