Moorings are generally $30-40 and dockage in belfast(town landing) is $2 a foot and steeper the farther south you go. active Captain can help you on the particulars. Enjoy

Re: maine mooring/dock fees

I was there last week for a cruise and found the dockage very reasonable, right around $3 a foot per night, compared to Newport ($6 +). I found that rate in both Rockland and Southwest Harbor. I did not check seasonal, But contact Jane at Dysarts Great Harbor Marina in SW.

The latest sign that the Cruising Apocalypse Is Upon Us, when $3/foot has come to be considered "very reasonable" :-)

Re: maine mooring/dock fees

The OP said 'annual fees' so I assume this means a season of dockage, not transient.

I don't know of a Portsmouth, ME but I do know a little about Portsmouth, NH.

When I was looking at the start of last season (Spring 2012) for space for my 25' keel boat, Great Bay Marine wanted about $1,200 for a mooring. That's a good price, but they are 7 miles from the mouth of the river. I found a slip on the ocean side of both lift bridges (I forget exactly where) for $3,000. That was too much for me.

I ended up paying more than the GBM price for my mooring at Great Cove Boat Club, but I am 3 miles closer to the ocean (still north of both bridges) and they have a great facility.

I found myself wishing there were real estate brokers for slips and moorings. It can be very difficult to find even a few choices; you never feel like you saw even 10% of what must be available.

Talking Re: maine mooring/dock fees

Any of my "Salty" friends who will be in the Mt. Desert Island vicinity between now and early November are welcome to my mooring in Seal Harbor. It will be empty ( it should be! Ha!) for the rest of the season. You can't beat the "fee".

It was inspected in June and a new top chain added. It has tackle that will handle a 40' boat. Not the best spot to ride out a hurricane. I usually move to Northeast Harbor for those.

pm me a few days in advance so I can give you the particulars. I will be out of touch for the month of October so plan ahead.
