Sarasota Moorings-Eliminate Anchorage

The following link is to an article regarding the city of Sarasota''s desire to eliminate the anchorage and put in a mooring field.

Perhaps our pirate (BigRed) will become involved?

It was interesting how they mentioned condo owners, city council, law enforcement, and, oh yeah, boaters.

Sounds like more of same following Vero Beach, Stuart, Marathon, and Ft. Myers Beach. Wonder if Marina Jack, since they bought the place next to them, the only place you could land your dingy, will stop that as well. Oh for if it were not for the Fat Cats, wouldn''t Florida be wonderful.

I forgot to add, that this underwater land is leased from the state at $0.13 per square foot. Do the math and you will see why these cities just love to put in mooring fields.

there are still legal anchorages out here in sw fla.
I anchored then a yr ago for a few days.. never again. My boat was invaded by a bum who almost made off with personal things and stuff..
there are boats in that anchorage that it is a mystery why they float.

The whole scenario is still a yr or three down the road anyways. Fort myers may or may not happen. Do not get your knickers in a twist until it all happens..
then, if it does not suit...well heck, that is what sails are for. {grins}

And as the lake slowly freezes, the duck must swim in smaller and smaller circles…
