Re: Name that Dinghy!

When I saw the photo, my first thought was, that photo was taken in Punta Gorda.
I went to your website and saw you have a home in Charlotte Harbor so I was pretty close.

I'm looking forward to the answer to your question and the explanation of what that is on the side of the dinghy. Lee board?

Re: Name that Dinghy!

It looks like a really crude version of a Dyer Dhow Midget. Pretty similar lines, but the DD dinghies have a daggerboard or centerboard and the mast is taller.

I'm no longer participating on SailNet.

Re: Name that Dinghy!

Yeah... It has leeboards... And the pic is actually from Cape Coral - a guy had it on craigslist. He doesn't know much about it, and neither do I, but I think I'm gonna buy it

Re: Name that Dinghy!

Digging this back up.. So, I found, from the Plaque, that the dinghy was made by Action Craft out of Cape Coral - so it's not far from home. I have the serial number, and a phone number to call for maybe further information. Looking up the history of the company was interesting, but I found nothing online about them making dinghies, even though they obviously did at some point...

I live in Missouri, so I haven't even seen the boat in person yet. Looking forward to getting my hands on her Friday (and my Fiancee, too), when I arrive in Florida
