2013 Sailing Year a Total Bust

First the engine broke, then motor mount hell. At least motor is running fine again. Spent the day sitting in the cockpit, yesterday, feeling really good, enjoying the Sun.

Here's the thing that ended this year, anyway, until I know what's happening, and I'm not trying to feel sorry for myself, but, I must share this with my fellow sailors.

Saturday, sitting at the park. Think I had a mini-stroke. I'm 55, almost 56. Good thing a friend, roommate, was with me. I was gone for a couple minutes in the weirdest dreamstate I've ever experienced. Think I was at the edge.

Playing it by ear, might be heading to the doc tomorrow. Don't have much faith with western medical system. Too damned expensive, even with insurance.

Sorry to vent. Just hope to get a couple kind words from fellow sailors.

Wow - sorry to hear about the possible stroke. I hope everything turns out okay for you.

About the sailing, it has been very wet here this year. So not much boating going on. May next year bring us all blue skies, light/med winds, working engines, and good times!

Thanks. At least I can get the boat cleaned up, tarped up, and ready for next year.

Yes.... that. Sorry to hear of all your woes, but especially this last.

And I won't tell you how many days we've got in the log book so far...

I'll third/fourth/fifth the doctor recommendation. If you don't go soon, next season may be even worse for you.

As for the sailing season, I'm only marginally ahead of you. We finally got the boat in the water with a working engine a few weeks ago, and did our first sail with her two weeks ago.

See the doc. but watch just how you tell him what happened. have a friend that went to the doc for a similar situation. the doc pulled his drivers license until they find the cause. then he will have to apply to the DMV to get it back. its been 1 1/2 years never had another problem but the DMV is still holding his license.
