Pretty Lake Ontario

International Space Station images of a whiting event on Lake Ontario. Apparently this can occur naturally in the late summer and is not the result of an algae bloom:

The water where I keep my boat looks much like that all the time - in that case it is glacial flour.

Somehow I think the Ontario cause is different.
