Folkboat EIRA

Hey Jeff, Eira is in September''s Woodenboat! She hit the water on July 24th with all due ceremony. She’s not sailing just yet but they’re trying to make the Gloucester Schooner Festival over Labor Day weekend. Gosh, doesn’t she have a tall rig! Watching how Fred put her back together over the past couple of years has given me a greater appreciation for owning one of his boats! Eira may not have been built originally for blue water passage making but should Fred’s son Tommy decide to enter her in the 50th anniversary of that famous first Transatlantic race that Val Howells sailed her in, he should have no questions about her strength!
