Noank, CT /Mystic - Marina Feedback

Anyone have any experience with the Noank Shipyard?
Any comparison or feedback vs. Spicer's Marina in Noank would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Noank, CT /Mystic - Marina Feedback

Are you looking at moorings or slips? Vital question when making a decision on these two marinas.

Feel free to pm me also.

We hauled at Spicer's several years ago and thought it was pretty good. Very good and helpful diesel mechanic. Docks are very tight and the moorings were almost the same price as the docks.

Yes, the docks look very tight at Spicers. I haven't looked closely at Noank yet, but need to. And we are looking for a slip not a mooring.

Thanks.

They are both good facilities. The no wake zone in front of the Noank Shipyard's outer pier is not well enforced. It's the last marina on the river and people tend to start speeding up at that point. Spicer's is much quieter as its in its own little cove.

Mooring at Spicer's get pounded by the prevailing SW all summer as they are outside the breakwater whereas the other side of Noank offers more protection.

Have you looked at the Noank Villiage Boatyard? That's a really nice facility. I think it's the nicest in Noank.

Maxwell's will be the least expensive but it's bare bones. However, if you have a 44' as your profile says the slips might not accommodate you (not 100% sure on that).

You have a big boat so I would base my decision on what slip I would be assigned. But YMMV
