anyone selling a 30+ft sailboat?

I'm looking for a 30ft or larger sailboat around the $7000 mark. Must be in decent condition.

Yachtworld.com might be a better place to start, once you have your boat this place can't be beat for information.

Also try sailingtexas.com, sailboatlistings.com, the for sale forum on cruisersforum, the Catalina 30 owner's forum, and craigslist.

...and eBay, but only if you can inspect the boat first, before bidding...

That price range is more for Craigslist.

Re: anyone selling a 30+ft sailboat?

In the Northeast US a 30' boat worth having is going to be $15-18k.

A 30' boat for $7k would need a lot of work (or a new engine) (or both).

Good luck with your search.

Don't let him discourage you...they're out there.

I will say it again....My 27' was turn key with storage and launch for $3500 and I have been sailing all year. I was right on craigslist ( and I am darn proud of it being so cheap....LOL)

Re: anyone selling a 30+ft sailboat?

I agree with Blu, you CAN find them for less. You just have to work at it. Walk the docks at the end of the season, talk to marina owners, etc. Networking is the best way, because there can be a lot of competition. Good boats get snapped up fast, at least early this season in NJ they did. If you don't mind putting in some elbow grease and dropping a few thousand into the boat, you can frequently find something in the $5-8K range.
