So well deserved. Congrats Bob. I had the pleasure of sailing a Valiant 40 early on in my sailing. Made me realize how good a good boat can be.

Why go fast, when you can go slow.

... and how solid.. we have friends with V 40s, always impresses me how substantial they are compared to our '80s 'racer cruiser'... and have spent time on a Passport 40 too, which IMO is a more refined cousin.

Anyhow, must be nice to have created such a timeless design and have it recognized over the current crop of offerings.

Re: Congrat to Bob Perry

Thanks you guys. I appreciate the kind words.

My neighbor Steve was really impressed. He's not a sailor. He suggested we celebrate. His idea of celebrating is going out to watch a high school football game. He suggested that. I pictured myself being carried in on the shoulders of nubile cheerleaders at half time while the band played ENTRANCE OF THE GLADIATORS.

A man's go to have some dreams.

Congrats Bob, you've got a portfolio of beauties.

Re: Congrat to Bob Perry

Congratulations Mr. Perry. Your designs have always been my favorites. I have a friend in the local sailing club who lives on a Valiant which he loves. My favorite of your designs, which I plan on living on in the near future, is the Tayana 48. Congrats again!

Re: Congrat to Bob Perry

I sailed an Islander 28 (another nice Perry design) for many years on the Great Lakes. Had a lot of great times and the boat never let me down.

Re: Congrat to Bob Perry

I would have voted for the tayana 37, but I'm slightly bias since I've own one for over 25 years. Thank you maestro!

Re: Congrat to Bob Perry

Many thanks you guys and gals.
I don't have hardware on my mantel. I have photos and flowers.
I doubt that CRUISING WORLD will give me anything for this but the honor and privilege.
That's enough.
