Anybody still unaware of the incredible AC race showdown??

If so, go over to the Racing forum, my yesterday post here got bumped by the mods to there.

Incredible comeback by US/Oracle against New Zealand, and incredible racing on the space-age foiling Cats, enough to win over an old 12-Meter monohull devotee like me.

Weather permitting (a big "if") the race for ALL the marbles is 4PM Eastern time today, televised on NBCsports Network. US, once down 8-1 and seemingly deader than a doornail, pulled even to 8-8 with two wins yesterday.

(please don't bump this to the Racing forum--thanks))

I agree it's been everything Larry hoped for. Even my wife has enjoyed watching the race.
The come back has been unbelievable. Win or lose both boats have put on a great race.
We don't get NBC sports net work. But we can watch the replay on YouTube America's cup channel around 5:00 PM pacific time. The trick is to upload the feed without finding out the results while doing so.
Namaste

Thanks for the headsup, Tom. Here NBC has been bouncing them back and forth, sometimes on NBC prime, sometimes on NBCSports, with no mention of when the next one might be.

Amazing that Oracle has been able to come back this way. I still keep seeing it saying to myself, "but that's not sailboats". I wonder if the radical "Marconi" sloops had the same effect when they happened.

Done, and done. Wow, what a Lazarus comeback. Oracle clearly faster even though they trailed early. Ended up being a horizon job.

I feel for the Kiwis, great sailors and people. the whole country lives sailing, so this has gotta be very tough for them.

WOW. Got to be one of the greatest comebacks in sport history.

wish I could have seen it. Couldn't find it on TV and redbull had it blocked on youtube. Personally I was rooting for the Kiwis. I would like to see a return to more saner forms of racing for the next cup. Exactly how do you one up these boats?

Yeah it's pretty sad. The entire country of New Zealand was following the event. Meanwhile, they couldn't even fill the stands to watch the event live in San Francisco. The mainstream media in North America hasn't even noticed it. I wonder how the sponsors feel about that?

I found it on the NBC sports channel but it wasn't labeled america's cup. IIRC, the other day the program had "Formula Drift" or something like that.

Really strange sounding that america's cup is blocked from americans. How screwy is that?
