Floating Island of Japan's Tsunami Debris Headed for U.S. - D-brief | DiscoverMagazine.com

The lesson from the Icarus story is not about human failing.
It is a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.
If you have an engineering problem solve it.

Re: More Japan News

While this debris from Japan certainly exists, the article in blogs.discovermagazine.com is rather misleading. Among other things, it states
Quote:
An updated NOAA report released last week shows a floating debris island the size of Texas that’s headed toward the U.S., along with other debris dispersed throughout the ocean.
If one actually follows the hotlink to NOAA's report it states nothing of the kind. Luckily the NOAA article was much more interesting and factual and is worth reading.
