Missing endangered man on sailboat Florida

My husband Roy L. Hackett is a missing endangered person. He was last seen Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in Pensacola, FL. He left on his sailboat and has not been seen since. He is believed to have taken a dog with him (golden lab cross) heading toward the Floriday Keys or toward Texas. He was previously employed as a commercial diver, has been working in boat maintenance for the past couple years. Roy had been living on his sailboat at a marina in Pensacola, FL.

I cannot believe this has happened.

Please forward to anyone along the coast line of the GOM.

Roy is 40 years old. 5'-10" tall, approx 185 pounds, brown/grey hair, blue eyes, wears glasses, has false tooth on right upper, numerous tattoos.

Please contact the Escambia County Sheriff's Department 850-436-9620, case number 036469 and myself 608-792-4897. He will be listed in the Flordia Missing Endangered Persons data base. The US Coast Guard has also been contacted.

I can post photos but I am new to this site and don't know how. I would like to reach out to all boating communities for help.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

You will need 10 posts to be allowed to post images; just do a series of countdown posts in this thread. Here's our how-to-post-pictures thread.

Good luck to you both.

Gary

There is no "Roy Hackett" (middle initials are not allowed/used) in the Florida missing endangered persons database as of this afternoon.

Oh DUH. Lastname, Firstname works. I foolishly thought they were asking for a name, in human sequence, when I entered it.

Must have been written by Chinese programmers to ask for lastname firstname.

It doesn't mean he's lost just because he didn't tell you where he was going.

I wouldn't be too worried yet. It's only been four days, which is not excessively long if the winds were light and he's sailing solo. A boat like that might average 100 to 125 miles a day under sail and if he went nonstop and I believe KW is something over 600 miles from Pensi. I'm far away, but perhaps some of you on the Gulf coast and Fla west coast could chime in with the past week's weather. There are some places on the Fla west coast he could have pulled into, where he might not have communications as well.

Come on - disorderly conduct should be a reason to run away?
I don't think so...
Didn't mean running from the law......
