Hey Y''all (South Carolinian for "you''ns..I am still learning this southern dialect)

I got my hands on a compuer program from NASA called "World Wind." I loaded it on my computer to see what it was (thinking it was something to do with wind) and it allowed me to access NASA and USGS archived photos...USGS 1 meter survey of the continental US and Landsat-7 images just about everywhere else. It''s pretty good stuff. Looking at Charleston Harbour or the San Fransisco Bay is pretty cool. Looking at the Bahamas where I can tell the deep water from the shallow and see the reefs underwater just might prove useful. This is way cool. Wish I could post a picture here to show you. Anybody want a picture of Charleston Harbour taken from space please email me at markcash2@aol.com

Sounds like great program, and useful for what I do. How might I get hold of a copy?

Chas.

okay, I am still playing with this...it''s more addictive than crack or "dungeons and dragons"....the 3-D stuff is really great...it''s about 171 megs so takes about 6 minutes to download in DSL (glad it''s not an old 2400 baud modem). You need 1 gig speed, at least 256 megs of ram, pentium 3 or equivalent, 3D card or built in 3D graphics capability and DSL or better to pull the images in. .net and activeX are also needed.

hope this helps
