How about Saijazz?

OK Guys

How about sailjazz? Who all is going to buy into their subscription program? I probably will. After all they did for us here, I guess I feel I owe it to them to help keep their new effort alive. If they do get a message board going, they say they are planning on it, a lot of us may wind up there.

I pay for magazine subscriptions so this does not seem to me to be unreasonable

How about you?

i will pass on the subscription. I don''t have enough disposable income to send them. I also feel a bit slimed. THey said they wanted to restart the community thing like when SailNet started. So now I guess you need to send them mone tp be part of their comminuty.

I would rather spend my money on boat parts.

walt,
I was hoping Cheryl & Sam would set up a sailing forum as their restart priority. I paid a $10 donation soon after the first SailJazz website was initiated, thinking that was the planned evolution. Instead, all that''s happened is a lame boat-specific email list, weakly written articles, a clothing store of tacky T-shirts and increasing commercialism.

Sorry . . . even though the $40 annual fee is not outrageous, I cannot see the value to me. The "other" forums I interact with, each have a stronger community spirit and focus more closely on my interests . . . sharing information regarding cruising and maintaining my sailboat.

I have enjoyed the message boards here for a long time...and I was excited when Sailjazz started up because I thought maybe there was a chance that we could get back some of the spirit that was lost here in recent months. But I am always in "starving artist" mode and if I had to pay for every source available I would get "nickel and dimed" to death. Right now I don''t see that Sailjazz is up to the level that I could justify paying the subscription fee...especially when there are so many free BB''s out there. Maybe in the future I will want to subscribe, but for now I will stick to other sites such as Cruiser''s Forum and many others. The Bulletin Board has always been the draw here for me...I purchased from Sailnet because of wanting to support the effort to keep the board. The lists at Sailjazz are simply not worth it at this point to me...I have maybe received four or five messages from the list since joining when it started.

To All

The Topic Line tells me that this has been looked at 104 times. Four guys have taken the time to respond, and one that did not come through.

Come on guys let us know how you feel about it. I don''t want to be there by myself, but I do not want to loose all of you either.

I have to think that our days are numbered at Sailnet if SailJazz is doing message boards that you need to pay to use and they now own the Sailnet Message boards. I doubt that I will pay to join the Sailjazz boards.

Two things here.

Number one I should have said -- Come on Guys & Gals!

Number two -- Jeff -- Do we know that Sam & Cheryl now own this, the SailNet boards.
