offshore spars & brass slides

new boat, brass slides and alum track, slides are jamming at gate when attempting to raise; despite lubricant....any thoughts ( second boat with this arrangement- first boat I had to change the slugs..gets costly & why do I have to?)

Does your mast have a long crane extension.
It sounds like the halyard pull is not properly aligned with the track.
