my friend and I are graduating from UVA this december. We were looking at working on a sailboat during feb-may that will take us to the carribean. We have little sailing experience but want to learn all we can. if you have any info on someone looking or a place to go to find some more info please let me know.

I'm the friend ds mentioned - and I finally graduated with a bachelor's in early french history and piano tuning. Now how about a damn ride on a sweet boat? You won't have to pay me a full salary. Just enough to cover my methadone treatments for however long it takes to get to the carribean.

Smackie,
Where is the 'Dog' when you need him? I guess he is asleep at the tiller or has his favorite beverage dribbling from his lips. Reviving old threads is on of the 'Dog's' watchdog duties. Please read the link in his signature!
Come on up to NY this summer when it is way too hot in TX for sailing and we can sail as far as oh, say Block Island, definately not as far as Bermuda in my 19 footer. It has a spinnaker though! So does my T 27' which might make it to the Chesapeake.
You grumpy 'old' fool.
Cheers.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Heh-heh. You've said this so many times now - in so many places - that it's starting to sound like a 2nd grade crush. If you could just keep this whole thing to yourself you could possibly maintain some shred of dignity. That's kind of what "ignore" means.

I think you and CP have some soul-searching to do. Let me know if there's any way I can help you guys. I'm no Dr. Phil, but I could come up with something.

Always fun to start the new year by throwing a salvage bag around an 8 year old post and floatin' the sucker!

DS, ya got any bikini pictures? I only allow crew that look good in bikinis, or without them, let's see in or out, hell I forget, I knew bikini had something to do with it.

Yer ever see a skinny old man in a speedo? Boil yer eyes out it will. NOW, you really want to crew?
