Boss again

This is the other clever Boss trick. Bit BSy in the commentary but fun to watch.

(Just realised there's already a thread on this .... )

Re: What's wrong with this pic?

Actually he's either hove to or he's filming a Viagra commercial. If you look closely, the starboard jib sheet is slack, but the port sheet has several wraps on the main winch. So he's actually backwinded the jib. So he's either sitting still while they film him posing at the helm, or he's motoring against the backwinded jib just like in the Viagra commercial.

Re: What's wrong with this pic?

He's about to go under a low bridge in the middle of the ocean, and has hung some heavy weights (eg: water-filled canvas bags) from the top of the mast and starboard spreader to heel the boat to starboard and gain bridge clearance.

Re: What's wrong with this pic?

For the Redford photo, I just figured the camera crew (which would likely be 3-4 people, if I'm not mistaken) is all sitting on the starboard side of the boat causing it to list. Given the lack of any significant wake, she doesn't appear to be making much progress.

In the shot with the 3 guys, I saw that bow wave and wondered what was going on. I thought maybe the water was choppy and the picture was snapped at just the right time. I didn't notice the reefed main, but if she's haulin' like that, I'm impressed she isn't heeling more. I'm also impressed that the captain isn't yelling at the dude leaning against the boom to stop ruining his sail shape.

I would say there has been a collision of some sort. Maybe the wash is a wave off the rocks he's just hit? If that is so, he doesn't look very concerned about it.

Is there going to be an answer?
You've just described the entire movie.
