Miami Vice Threads

I tried searching, couldn't find anything on these boards

The Endeavor 42 Sailboat used as Sonny's home looks like a beautiful boat with a great interior. I was watching an episode last night and they had some great on deck scenes...

Anyone own one..... or seen one in the flesh...

Re: Miami Vice Threads

"Throughout the series, Sonny Crockett lived on an Endeavour sailboat named the St. Vitus' Dance, while in the pilot episode, Crockett is seen on a 38-foot Cabo Rico sailboat. In season 1, he is seen living on an Endeavour 40 sailboat while in the rest of the series (seasons 2 to 5), he is seen living on an Endeavour 42 sailboat (priced at $120,000 in 1986). The allure of the sailboats was such that the Endeavour 42 used for the 1986 season of Miami Vice was sold to a midwest couple, while the Endeavour 40, was sold to a chartering service in Fort Lauderdale. At the same time, Endeavour was building a new 42 for the 1987 season of Miami Vice."

Re: Miami Vice Threads

Thanks, it was a beautiful boat. last nights episode had some extended scenes on it, weird cockpit, very open and exposed..

That was serious, serious money back then...heck even today..

All his stuff - the boat, Ferrari's, jewelry etc. was drug seizures. After the Daytona got nuked he had to drive a hot rod pickup for a bit before he got the Testosterone.

He bitched about it the whole time he had to drive it - too downmarket for a big time dealer like he was supposed to be.

That was a great show - I take it there are reruns on somewhere?

Re: Miami Vice Threads

I noticed watching the episodes with his go-fast in it, that the Scarab never had any bottom paint, but supposedly sat in the slip next to the Endeavour all of the time, but had no bottom growth at all. That wasn't my experience with my powerboat that I kept in a slip not too far from where those were filmed at.
