Re: Houseboat sinks at anchor Daytona

Just got back from the waterfront, the same half dozen people hanging out on a 20' pontoon boat that has been tied up to one of the 6 public launch docks for the last 8-10 months. I don't understand how the local police ain't all over that crew, they hang around drinking beer. one of them is the Guy that got arrested for cooking Meth on his boat a couple weeks back.
they know the cops by name, cops know them, just another day in Dirtona.

For the pontoon boat, it sounds like the Harbormaster needs to wake up and clear space at the dock for other people to use. They could be scaring off others by their reputation or by their behavior: not cool. They don't have to be tied up to the dock to drink beer. Maybe if they drink enough beer at anchor, Darwin will show up and help solve the problem by seeing if any of them can swim after falling in.

Re: Houseboat sinks at anchor Daytona

there is no Harbor master it's just a section of the Halifax river /ICW that passes through the center of Daytona Beach.
they're sitting in a ratted out pontoon boat tied to one of the docks at a public launch ramp. it's close to the 7-11 where the beer is.
One plus is,if their down at the boat ramp sleeping on the "boat" they're not sleeping against the outside of my 6' fence out back of my house like the two I found this morning.
Daytona Beach is such a classy location!

Re: Houseboat sinks at anchor Daytona

today I checked on the sunken house boat.
Some progress has been made.
it was floated and dragged close to shore.
got some pictures but have been unable to upload.
this might get recovered yet!
