Hooray for all of us!

Let me begin by apologizing for unleashing a torrent of news content on all of you. What started out a great idea; exploiting the wonders of RSS News Feeds quickly turned into a quagmire of information overload.

We were very selective when setting up the automatic posting of Sailing news feed data from other sites, but unfortunately we placed the "News" section under the General Discussion area which made it virtually impossible to exclude this information from the results yielded when you clicked the "New Posts" button on the menu bar above.

This morning we removed the "News" section from the General Discussion area and placed it in a section of it's own and at the same time we made a modification to the website to ignore any "posts" in the "News" section when clicking the "New Posts" link.

Therefore when you click the "New Posts" item on the menu bar above the results will only show what is posted by the "human" members of your SailNet forums, not information automatically posted by our NewsReader.

Regards,

Jeff

Thanks Jeff, for your excellent response to our suggestions. This is a great site that keeps on getting better.

Thanks for the change. Good though that you keep trying to improve things, even if it doesn't always quite work out.

sorry to revive a pretty old thread, but when I click new posts. I am getting posts that come from the NewsReader. Anyone else experiencing this?
