wondering if anyone knows if say sails from an oday40 could be used on a 35 c&c or how you can transfer sails what are the rules on that??? any help would be great

Its pretty unlikely that you can use any sails from an Oday 40 on a C&C 35. The rig propotions are very different.

run over to www.baconsails.com and choose search by factory dimensions, then you can compare the two sails easily. (open in two tabs for easier comparison)

It's a pretty comprehensive set up over there.

No rules on this subject, whatever fits can fit, for better or for worse. As to this particular exchange, Jeff calls it correctly, you can check the rig dimensions at http://www.mauriprosailing.com/techi.../boatspecs.htm

If you start to consider cutting down a used sail, or even having to re-tape the luff for a different system, then any savings start to disappear in the labor cost and you may be better off buying no-name sails new.
