Solar panel government rebate?

I heard that the fed's give a rebate for using solar power.

I only see it as a tax rebate for in home solar water heating. Anyone heard of using those rebates toward buying individual panels and getting a boat set up?

There was a government rebate program about 4 years ago. Came out to be about 50%!!!
I found one in California. I think it was something like 3.50 per watt. Not bad. I was going to try and have a friend there buy for me but found a great deal on e-bay.
