sailing for the disabled

On the 21st of the month, Sabaudia Prima will set sail from the port of San Felice Circeo. Circeo, situated 100km south of Rome, is told to be the island of the witch Kirki. Sabaudia Prima along with Cesare, an Italian paraplegic that has learned sailing on this yacht in its crew will commence a modern day Odyssey from there. The trip to Calabria will last about 4 days, and when we reach it, we will pick up Azzura, the Italian Paralympics game winner of shooting and continue the trip to Greece. We will travel with Azzura for 3 days across the Adriatic Sea, and we will have a mini-cruise in Greece that will have as a first stop Ithaca, as a tribute to Ulysses. We will reach Athens, the Olympic marine on the Delta of Phaliro, on the 30th of June. The yacht will remain in Greece until the middle of October.

The yacht is an offer of the Italian shipyard Sabaudia Ettica, which specializes in the building of accessible yachts that allow the wheelchair users to handle the yacht and the sails, enjoy sailing, the sea, and the islands without any obstacles.

From July and on, the yacht will be available to the Sailing for All, SAILABILITY HELLAS club, and its member will be taught the secrets of open sea and racing sailing.

The trip is being funded from the Sailing for All MCPY, which specializes in the organizing of trip and holidays with accessible to all sailing yachts.
