Question Ericson 35-3 hull to keel joint

I'm looking to purchase a 1988 35-3. The boat is in very good condition except i noticed a gap on the trailing edge of the keel to hull joint. I can see light between the two and it extends about 5 inches in from the trailing edge.
Any thoughts???

Bill, if you are unfamiliar with keel issues this is the time to spend a couple hundred bucks on a surveyor. I don't know the Ericson but have never heard of being able to see daylight unless the keel was dropping, i.e. if a keel bolt had come loose or the support it was tied into had dropped. Could be nothing, could just need caulking, could just be the way that mold and keel fit. Could be damage from a grounding, which pushed the keel back and up and crushed in the hull in that area.

Could be a "RUN AWAY!" warning. Time to have a surveyor examine all the keel fittings to be sure.
