Parts help!

Hey everyone I need your help! I have an item that I'm trying to gather more information about. Its a globe winch... I believe. It says globe on it and it looks like a winch but its a good 10+ years old. Anybody know about the brand globe and can help me out on a few details on it? thanks!

Re: Parts help!

Looks like a crank and drum from a jib crane or similar.
Globe General Industries.
Google is your friend :-)
I was bored so I looked and found it in about 20 seconds.
Did you even bother to look?

Edit: Maybe that was a bit harsh and maybe there is another, older Globe. I doubt it is sailing related unless it is off of an old loading crane.

Re: Parts help!

I had another thought. It could be a manual winch to crank a small boat onto a trailer.

Re: Parts help!

That's not a trailer winch... although I am sure it could be used that way. Looks like a stanchion or pulpit mount.

"Rum Line" an S2 7.9 - cheap, fast, trailerable, and paid for.

Re: Parts help!

Do you know if it was off of a sailboat? Maybe it was off of a fishing boat.

Re: Parts help!

Furler winch?! the chrome handle looks like it would be used as a brake? winch handle to furl sail? definitely looks like stanchion mount!
