Comet 1000

I am currently trying to find some information on a Comet 1000 33'. About all I know is that the boat is Italian made by the Comar company. Has anyone had any experience with a Comet or can you direct me to some inciteful sites?
Thanks...Freshbreezes

Comet 1000

Dear Freshbreezes
I have a Comet 1000 which has been in the family from new in 1981. My father bought it in preference to British boats like the Contessa 32 or Rival because he di not want pilot berths and a cramped cabin. Nor did he want the mass production of Beneteau. He was impressed by Comar's factory in Forli and the temperature controlled conditions which ensured no osmosis problems. The Finot/Van der Stadt design enjoyed some early racing successes. We have cruised in the Summer from the South of France where it was originally delivered to Spain, Corsica and Sardinia, to Greece, Croatia and recently Rimini near Venice. She is quite fast in light breezes and we can generally count on 6.5 knots passage-making. The internal layout still looks modern and spacious. There is a Comet 1000 site which you can google with pictures and specifications. You could ring me on 0044 (0)208 402 4303
Best wishes
Peter Thompson

Hey Peter, you did notice that the poster asked this 4 years ago, and posted 2 posts total in all that time? I doubt seriously they are still lurking around.
