My handheld Simrad VHF got a beating, but my Garmin 76 GPS had no problems. Not a direct hit, just too close!

I was struck this past weekend square on the top of the mast. Everything connected to DC wiring was fried. Anything not connected was not affected at all by EMP discharge.
