Check out the Thread"Buying a Cal 40" posted a few weeks ago in
Buying a Boat Forum. Interesting. I'm not familiar with a Hydro Keel. From what I've seen the Cal 39 would be a great boat. We found our Hunt designed Cal 33 good in moderate to mid-heavy seas. However thats only a very small part of cruising. Storage and reliability is very important. Also how you aproach voyaging. Fairwinds has a deep draft and a high aspect rig. Points well. Easy to sail. What are your plans cruising? Destinations?Full time? After being out for 2 straight years We feel perhaps 6 months on and 6 months off would keep it fresher..........
