Mercury 6 stolen in Hudson Florida

Yes, it is mine. After leaving St. Pete Marina, I was off-guard. Now docked in Hudson Beach Marina, I was an easy target for the local crime and drug syndicate. How about a message if anyone notices a quite new 2010 Mercury 6hp 4 stroke sn OR393261. Purchased in 2013 it has maybe 25 hours and I am out $1,800.
I will appreciate any leads that you may come across.

Re: Mercury 6 stolen in Hudson Florida

Yup... Hindsight. Stowing it below certainly would have kept it locked and out of sight. I now have the decks cleared and the dinghy stowed in my van. There are a few things still vulnerable like solar panels and Monitor steering vane, throwable, etc
The police are almost completely helpless. They lamented that these druggies are bailed out by their dealers or co-dependent parents before the sun goes down. Such insights make me realize the benefits of sailor friendly cities with well run marinas like St. Pete Municipal, on Tampa Bay.

Re: Mercury 6 stolen in Hudson Florida

Yes sir. I heard that from the policeman. I have always been shy of those sites. My kids may consent to pursuing that.
It is obvious that the police are not getting anywhere. They haven't even questioned the ex-stepfather of the top suspect. He has a shrimp boat in the marina and admits getting a phone call about buying my engine. His comment echo's your first post.

I feel like I am locked in the asylum with the inmates... Dock rent is up end of July.

Thanks for the chat. It helps crystalize what needs to be done...
