Lake Weir/Florida

Hello everyone! i was wondering if there was anyone else out here that lives near Lake weir in ocklawaha, florida. we live about a mile away from the lake and we are taking our sailboat out this weekend and i wanted to know the best place to launch from. so far we have only found hope park. i know this is a shot in the dark but maybe somebody lives close or can give me some info.

I keep my Pearson in the ICW. Many nice places to sail over there . Give me a shout.

Hi Bob!!! We sailed this weekend on Lake Weir and it was fantastic. It is a large enough lake and the weather and winds were favorable. You say you keep your boat on the ICW? We are planning a summer cruise sometime in June/July 2002 down the intercoastal. Interested?? We have a Helson 22, two kids (one 6 1/2 and one 11 months old), and both boys love to sail and "camp out" on the water. If you want to come to Lake Weir they have a great sailing club that has racing and cruising all the time. I would be most happy to give you directions on how to get here. Talk to you soon!!
