Please say a prayer or have a brief moment of silence for those Americans who were killed today and their families. I''m sure there was a sailor or two amongst them.

"Nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility. But when the blast of war blows in your ear, then immitate the action of the tiger. Now lend the eye a terrible aspect."
Shakespeare
Where was God when those heathen bastards flew those airplanes full of terrified innocent people into those two buildings full of innocent, unsuspecting people? Where was God when those two buildings collapsed and fell on those innocent people still running for their lives? And while they were being crushed in that firey, horrific, and terrifying collapse, where was God?
Let us not pray. It is too late for prayer. What can God do for those people now?
Let us keep our eyes open so we can hunt for the murdering bastards that perpetrated this act of war against those innocent people and this nation. Let us keep our eyes open so our aim will be true when we deliver to them their due, just wages for this day''s work.

Where was God? How about with all the policemen and firemen and rescue workers who have been working non-stop. How about with all the people who are pouring in across the country to give blood. How about with all the volunteers who have worked tirelessly wanting nothing in return except to help. God help you dhartdallas.

Winna, shame on you for giving God credit for
the work of these selfless men. It was not God who entered that burning building and died trying to save those people. It is not God who is working twenty-four hours a day in
dangerous rubble. It is those men. They died. They are doing the work. They get the credit,
not God. Is this the same God that drowned every human being of the face of the earth, men, women, and children, no matter the level of their guilt, except for a hand full? Is this the same God that told you not to commit
adultry then impregnated another man''s wife?
Is this the God that allowed his own son, who
was innocent, to be brutally murdered by the guilty, to keep him, God, from doing what he could have kept from doing on his own by choice; that is, not murder all mankind again? Is this the God that so beneficently promised not to drown the earth again; rather, next time burn them all alive! Man''s evil? Man can not even spell the word in light of the acts of this God, if your Bible is, in fact, true. Don''t praise God for the heroic acts of these self sacrificing heros of our nation. Praise the ones who deserve it , the men themselves. When will we stop giving God the credit for our good, and quit accepting the blame and guilt for his evil?
Thanks be to these heros of America. Praise them for their selfless sacrifice!

Ahoy, svsheela. This is an emotional time. Thank goodness for freedom of speech. We are just getting it out, each in his own way. I don''t mean to attack anyones belief or to be intolerant. It is just that we sometimes do things that are good and we transfer the credit elsewhere. I know it works the other way around, too. Anyway, I feel better. Thanks for the low key signal. It made me look. dhd

dhart..... I have asked myself the very same questions....many times in my life. I have shared the very same anger as you. I am now an agnostic, and choose to view God on my own terms, not those of organized religion. That being said, I have always had to re-examine the situation and remind myself that what separates us from wild animals is that God gave us "free will".

Since man possesses "free will", and will use that free will, there is little that God can do to prevent what happens on earth. The devil and the evil that he is and causes are very real. He cannot take a human life, but his minions that are human can. Had God not given us "free will".....we would be nothing more than animals following imprinted instinctive behaviors.

I have, in these events, chosen to believe that these happenings are man made and out of the hands of God, but hope deep within my heart and soul that Gods many Angels were present to help and escort the souls of the dead home to Heaven....and that other Angels will be with the families of the fallen to help them through this trying time.

But I agree with you.....this is a situation that has to be handled by man. The actions to complete our retaliation and make sure that something like this never happens again must be handled by man alone. I can only pray that our responses will be of long duration, concise, well directed at the guilty parties and of such magnitude of destruction, death and horror that any in the future who would even for a moment think of attacking us would instead quake with fear at the thought.

This is a time when we need to pray, give blood, give emotional support and give direction to our elected leaders....do so, and at the same time send good thoughts to those suffering the most right now. They need that help.

RobHoman: You really have a way with words, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I had to fight back tears when you wrote about the Angels being there to help the dead cross over into heaven.

Let''s all try and be a little nicer to each other, friends and strangers alike. We don''t know when our last day might be, so every day try and do something nice for someone, even if it''s just smiling and letting someone out in traffic. Small acts of kindness DO matter.

DHD: It broke my heart to see how you felt about God during this awful tradegy. I also agree with Rob as he spoke about mans "free will". Anything other than that and we would just be puppets in Gods hands. I don''t think anyone is giving God "credit" for the acts of all those who are selflessly helping and working in NY but I do believe that God is in them and with them giving them a extra measure of strength, courage and physical and mental ability. Just look how long they have tirelessly labored. Look around you at how this Nation has come together. Look how many other Nations have joined together. The terroist brought us to our knees but it backfired we''re on them praying not submitting to evil. When God allowed his son to die on the cross remember ....He had free will also. He could have chosen not to die for our sins. But his blood bought us and set us free and we are FREE indeed.
