Talking I found a temporary boat!

Its a Castlecraft Super Snark.
Lateen rigged, daggerboard, kickup rudder, and weighs 50 pounds!
The only problem is that I can only sail her in winds under 15 knots.

So I can save and get a really nice O'day Sprite eventually!

Jeff_H will become famous soon enough
A lot of folks started out with super snarks. I still use a 35 year old Sportyak II dinghy that was made by the same company. The Snarks are pretty fragile and don't sail all that well but they are a good start.

Have fun,
Jeff

My father-in-law had a super snark.. they're pretty nice little boats to learn on.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

They don't seem to sail close-hauled that well though...
