Lake Champlain sailors

I have seen several photos of the lake in the photo gallery. I have a Pearson 26 on the lake although i live 3 hrs away. I love sailing there gazing at all the mountains i spend my winters playing on. Sometimes its nice to be in the fresh water to. Anyway, is there a goup of sailors from this site that get together up there?

I went to UVM on the six year plan. Sadly, I never sailed on the lake. Too many- hiccup- other things on my mind then. - Brian

I sail on Champlain, although way too infrequently. Hopefully more in the years to come.

We sail on the lake every chance we get. This year with the lousy weather it's been infrequent. The boat's coming out in 3 weeks and it seems like it just went in. We're looking longingly at the carribean now. Jim L

My boat is coming out the third week in october. I am hoping to get back up there a few more times before that! I also dream of heading south through the locks to the Hudson---then Bahamas. I am actually thinking of selling my Pearson 26 to focus more on my Southern Cross. It has been a great boat to solo but I don't think it would fare to well in the ocean. It is nice to anchor infront of all those big expensive homes and get a bit of their "million dollar views" though, isn't it!

Funny, I am thinking of a journey to the North, through the locks, to the St. Lawrence, to Nova Scotia, then South. Big Thoughts, but it's nice to dream.

labatt will become famous soon enough
We've been sailing on Lake Champlain on a Precision 23 this season, mostly launching out of Westport and heading north to Burlington or south to Port Henry.

We just bought a Passport 40 (http://labatt.dandd.com/v/non-art/passport40/). It's currently in Annapolis but we'll be doing the Annapolis to NYC to Champlain (up the canal) in May. Should be interesting!

I'd love to see a sailnet get together someplace on Champlain next Summer!

Chris
