I always liked the line drive ones, any brand. Chose a suitable lenth.

Dewey - A previous owner took our camber spar off and just ran the jib sheets back to genoa tracks. We have a roler furler now. That does tend to give us a bit more control and helps her sail to windward better but downwind a cambar spar might be very good. Faith

So, do you have a favorite supplier, website for the purchase of a whisker pole?

Faith,
I haven't tried many others, but the Forespar whisker pole we currently use seems bulletproof. If you look around, I'm sure you will also find it to be a common brand on most boats.

I'd second the forespar recommendation. Their gear is pretty solid. I haven't used their carbon fiber gear, but I have heard good things about it from my friends who race with it.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
