Christmas Lights for Parade

Does anyone have some suggestions / recommendations for stringing Christmas lights on a Catalina 320 for the San Diego Parade of Lights? It is coming up on December 9 and I want to get prepared. I expect to use 110 VAC household light strings and a portable generator. Any thought for the best place to mount the generator? I was thinking of either the transom step or near the bow pulpit. Any thoughts or suggestions, do''s & dont''s appreciated.
