whales and sonar

In light of the greenpeace allegations that the extreme low frequency sonar used to detect submarines kills whales, does anyone have any idea on how the sonar used in depthfinders and fishfinders affects whales? Is there any evidence whether or not it may attract or repulse the animals?

I doubt that the transducer in most recreational depthfinders and fishfinders has anywhere near the power to affect sea-borne mammals adversely. Whether it attracts of repulses them is a totally different issue.
