Roller furling

I recently purchased a new roller
furling. It is driving me crazy. I can''t
seem to figure out how to work it. Are there
any roller furling experts out there? MY
boat is a 82 UsYacht. It is 28ft in length.
My old furling broke, but it seemed
like it was all held together by this little
string. I''m a bit of a novice could really
use someones help.

The furling line should be wound on the drum BEFORE you roll up your headsail. I''ll bet you have just the oposite ?

We put a Profurl on our 28 Sea Sprite 5 years ago. It was easy to install and works wonderfully, even when the wind pipes up.
What make did you put on your boat?

I have a Profurl on a Catalina 22. Seems to work good, but only had boat for 2 weeks. The upper track appears to have slid up a few inches, and sail looks like it''s coming out of groove. Do you install each section butted up to each other, and how do you secure them?
Thanks...Tim

Is there a preformace advantage to a main sail with full length battens over a main with a 2+2 batten setup?
